Twenty-six 22 AWG silver-plated solid-core oxygen-free copper conductors form the foundation of the cable. Nordost's proprietary Micro Mono-Filament technology creates a virtual air dielectric around each conductor, while FEP insulation helps maintain the cable's electrical properties. Combined with carefully arranged conductors and mechanically tuned lengths, this construction is designed to control capacitance and inductance while supporting fast, consistent signal transmission.
Tyr 3 also features purpose-built, gold-plated beryllium copper spade or Z-plug banana connectors. Rather than relying on solder, Nordost uses ultrasonic welding to create a strong, precise connection between the conductors and terminations.
