Designed to maintain signal integrity between amplifier and speakers, Frey 3 combines precision conductor geometry, advanced insulation and purpose-built terminations to support clean, consistent signal transmission.
Twenty-two 22 AWG silver-plated solid-core oxygen-free copper conductors form the foundation of the cable. Nordost's proprietary Micro Mono-Filament technology creates a virtual air dielectric around each conductor, while FEP insulation and a flat cable geometry help control electrical characteristics. Mechanically Tuned Lengths further optimize conductor resonances, capacitance and inductance.
The connectors are designed specifically for the cable and attached using ultrasonic welding rather than soldering. This creates a precise, mechanically strong connection between each conductor and its gold-plated spade or Z-plug banana termination. ESD-protective terminal housings also help discharge static buildup before it can interfere with signal integrity. By engineering the cable and its connections as one system, Nordost aims to preserve the energy, dynamics and detail of the original performance.
