The McIntosh C22 Mk V is built for listeners who want the character of a true vacuum tube preamplifier at the heart of a high-end two-channel system. Its all-analog design uses five 12AX7A and one 12AT7 vacuum tubes, delivering the warmth, dimensionality and natural presentation that make tube-based systems so engaging.

Designed for analog listening

With seven analog inputs, including two balanced XLR, three unbalanced RCA, one Moving Coil phono and one Moving Magnet phono input, the C22 Mk V gives you plenty of flexibility for turntables and other analog sources.

The dedicated phono inputs are adjustable to better match different cartridges. Moving Coil impedance and Moving Magnet capacitance can be fine-tuned directly from the front panel, helping vinyl listeners get more from their cartridge without immediately adding a separate phono preamplifier.

Fine-tune the sound or leave it untouched

Bass and treble controls let you make simple adjustments for different recordings, speakers or listening preferences. Each can be adjusted in 2dB increments and completely bypassed when you want the signal to pass through without tone adjustment.

The front-panel controls also make everyday listening straightforward, with direct access to input selection, balance, phono settings and volume.

Built for a complete two-channel system

Two pairs of balanced and unbalanced variable outputs allow the C22 Mk V to work with multiple power amplifiers or more advanced system configurations. McIntosh Power Control can also automatically turn compatible connected components on and off, while data ports allow basic control of compatible McIntosh sources from the included remote.

For private listening, the built-in High Drive headphone amplifier features McIntosh Headphone Crossfeed Director technology, designed to create a more natural sense of space and imaging through headphones.
