The Gryphon Essence Preamplifier is designed to put as little as possible between your sources and power amplifier. Its true dual-mono architecture, fully discrete Class A circuitry, and zero global negative feedback keep the signal path short and simple. By eliminating unnecessary controls and circuitry, you get a preamplifier focused on preserving detail, dynamics, and spatial information.
You'll also get unusually careful control over the signal path. Gryphon uses a 43-step fully balanced relay volume attenuator with precision resistors, while the internal wiring is kept to an absolute minimum. A fully regulated low-noise power supply and separate local shunt regulators help keep unwanted electrical noise away from the delicate audio circuitry.
The Essence can also grow with your system. It comes as a line-level preamplifier, with optional MM/MC phono or DAC modules available when you need them. Input level matching, adjustable startup and maximum volume, AV bypass, and Green Bias control give you useful system-integration options without adding unnecessary circuitry to the main signal path.
