The Gryphon Commander is designed to let your source components and power amplifiers perform without the preamplifier getting in the way. Its true dual-mono design, discrete Class A circuitry, and zero global negative feedback help preserve the fine details, dynamics, and spatial information in your recordings. You'll also get an unusually thorough power supply. The separate power-supply chassis uses four custom 36VA toroidal transformers, with independent supplies for the left and right analog channels and a separate supply for digital control. The massive capacitor banks and low-noise regulation give the analog circuitry a stable foundation, while physical separation helps keep digital and power-supply interference away from the audio circuits.
The Commander is also built for serious system integration. Its 85-step relay-controlled volume attenuator uses precision Charcroft resistors, while four balanced and two single-ended inputs give you plenty of source options. A fixed-level AV bypass, tape output, 12V trigger connections, and Gryphon Green Bias control make it easy to integrate with both two-channel and home-theater systems.
