The Stellar GainCell DAC is an exceptional analog preamp, combined with a full-featured DAC.
The preamp is a fully balanced Class A design. While other preamps may also be Class A, VERY FEW at this price are Fully Balanced from Input to Output! Fully balanced circuitry ensures the best signal to noise ratio, for the best in dynamic contrast and lowest noise.
Also, by eliminating the standard volume control, and replacing it with varying gain, the sonic degradation of resistors in the volume control is eliminated. Accuphase uses a variation of this technique, along with Ayre Acoustics, 2 of the finest manufacturers in the world
The DAC section will decode up to 384kHz and Double Rate DSD.
