ELAC Miracord 90th Anniversary Turntable $3,699
ELAC was founded in 1926. In 1948, the company released its first turntable, the PW1 record changer. To celebrate its 90th Anniversary, the company released the Miracord 90 Turntable.
The plinth is a 12 lb. MDF chassis, resting on specially developed silicone feet that decouples the deck from the support surface. The platter is made of aluminum, weighs 14 lbs. and sits on a subplatter with hardened steel, ruby ball and sintered bronze bearing bushings. The motor is isolated from the plinth and tonearm, ensuring minimal vibration transfer. The newly developed tonearm is made of carbon fibre for rigidity, low resonance and mass. The MM cartridge is specifically designed by Audio Technica for ELAC. The 3 finishes available are Black Base with Gloss White Plinth, Silver Base with Gloss Black Plinth, and Black Base with Oiled Walnut Plinth.
We’ve just received our turntable, and it looks and sounds gorgeous.
